history of singhi park

Singhi Park Sarbojanin Durga Puja Committee is proud to announce the 75th year celebration of Durga Puja. The illustrious history of Singhi Park Durga Puja dates back to 1941. The pioneer of this Puja in its initial years of celebration was Late Birendranath Mustafi who was ably assisted by Late Lalit Mohon Mitra, Late Nolini Mohon Shastri, Late Soumendu Nath Sinha, Late Rajanath Banerjee etc. During this long journey of 75 years, the puja has been established as one of the most prestigious pujas of Kolkata, gaining the acceptance of the local community whole-heartedly.

The Gujarat Tourism Board is once again partnering our committee in recreating the Ambaji Temple of Gujarat. The shrine of Amba is regarded as a revered shrine by the Shakta Shaktism sect of Hinduism. It is believed that the Heart of Sati Devi has fallen here. It is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas. It is situated at a distance of approximately 65 kms from Palanpur and 45 kms from Mount Abu near the Gujarat and Rajasthan border. To leave no stones unturned, a team of artists camped in the census town in Banaskantha district in the state of Gujarat to study the fine intricacies of the architectural design of the temple. The recreation is going to be a 50 feet high structure spread across 3000 sq. ft. area.            Click here for more on Ambaji Temple
