Singhi Park Sarbajanin Durga Puja Committee is proud to announce the 68th year of celebration . The history of the famous Singhi Park Durga Puja dates back to 1941. The pioneers of this puja in its first year were Late Birendra Nath Mustafi, Late Lalit Mohan Mitra, Late Nolini Mohan Shastri, Late Soumendra Nath Sinha, Late Raja Nath Chatterjee & Late Naresh Chandra Bose & other eminent personalities of the locality. During the long journey of 68 years, the Puja has been established as one of the most prestigious pujas of Kolkata. But this has not affected the cultural heritage of the Puja. Quite, in contrast to the present trend of 'theme' pujas, Singhi Park has still continued the traditional way of worshipping the "Mother Goddess". Over the years, however, the pandal has been very innovative and accompanied by lighting from Chandannagore.

This year the pandal is a replica of the famous Badrinath Temple in Uttaranchal. The intricate design work is the brain child of the famous designer & artist Sri Sutanu Maity of Contai. The art work within is one of the main attractions this year.

The idol has the blessed touch of the award winning artist Sri Mohan Banshi Rudra Pal. The lighting is from Sridhar Das of Chandannagore.
Though Singhi Park has a very glittering atmosphere, "Matri Aradhana" is performed in the traditional way and maintaining a Communal Harmony is the true essence of our sincere efforts. The Puja has been successful this year due to the continuous efforts put in by the chairman, Sri Durga Prasad Mukherjee, the members of the committee and the residents & businessmen in the locality. I wish to thank all of them for putting enormous efforts to make the Puja a grand success.

With this I would like to wish all a very Happy Puja.

Shankar Bose
